Do you have some good fresh herbs that you risk losing if you don’t use them soon? If this is the case, here’s a great way to keep them fresh for up to a year.
Lay the fresh leafs in a ice tray and cover them with a good quality olive oil and then put the tray in the freezer. Once frozen, they can be used when needed, for up to one year.
When cooking, you can use an aromatized ice cube that melts as you heat the pan instead of using oil directly out of the bottle. Otherwise, just let the cubes melt at room temperature to use in a variety of food preparation.
