Creating an Italian Herb Garden

Basil is a well know Italian herb and useful in many recipes. This herb grows as a big shrub decorated with small blue flowers that is appealing to bees, thus keeping them away from other parts of your garden.
An Italian herb garden is sure to contain the useful, widely popular garlic. Garlic is surely the herd that Italian cuisine employs the most. The planted gloves grows well in any type of garden rather independently. Garlic is a strong perennial but is sensitive to frost. Once harvested, they can be stores either by freezing them or by picking and refrigerate them.
Sage is appreciated in various dishes ranging from meat to salads. Flavor is at its peak in the new shoots so it is preferable to keep the sage plants trim, which in turn, will help new shoots to grow. Once the sage has bloomed it can be harvested. Of course there are numerous other herbs than can make up an Italian herb garden, one should take into consideration which herbs you will be using in your recipes.
